This is a joint position:

 

50% of the position will be embedded at QBiC, focusing on cross-project data stewardship for omics-based research data in accordance with several Excellence Clusters, such as Human Origin, iFIT, and CMFI

  • Support and accompany researchers in the Excellence Clusters with data management in the research data life cycle from conceptual planning to implementation and publication 
  • Stay up to date with current data governance concepts, maintain metadata standards and documentation 
  • Support the integration of heterogeneous biomedical data types 
  • Interface with national and international data infrastructures (e.g., NFDI) 
  • Provide consultation and training on best practices in data management 

 

50% will be embedded at Hertie AI, with a focus on the organization, structuring, and sustainable management of health and clinical data including tabular and imaging data from international or national cohorts as well as clinical hospital data

  • Organize and structure internal research data, including data from different national and international cohorts (NAKO, UKBiobank) and anonymized clinical data 
  • Develop sustainable data storage, access, and documentation concepts 
  • Support researchers in harmonizing data formats and workflows and preprocessing clinical and imaging data including anonymization / pseudonymization  
  • Establish internal data standards and templates
  • Support submission of data management plans and ethics applications

  • Strong background in bioinformatics, data science, computer science, or a related field 
  • Experience in data integration, data governance and research data management 
  • Familiarity with scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python) and database systems is a plus   
  • Hands-on experience with metadata standards and ontologies 
  • Strong communication skills and a service-oriented mindset 
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research environments 
  • Experience in biomedical research is an advantage
